
Popis: Allegory of the Vltava and its Tributaries (Children's Island) What it is: A large monument featuring a nearly 3-meter (10 ft) bronze statue of the Vltava represented as a dancing girl atop a tall granite obelisk. Below her are four female figures symbolizing the river's main tributaries: Otava (panning for gold), Lužnici (holding flowers), Sázava (holding a fish), and Berounka (holding a gear wheel). Tradice: Created by Josef Václav Pekárek and unveiled in 1927/1928. Every year, Czech boaters gather here for a ceremony to officially open the boating and canoeing season.
