Popis: GRAND PRIORY MILL (VELKOPŘEVORSKÝ MLÝN) The Grand Priory Mill is one of the historic watermills in Prague, dating back to the 12th century. The mill acquired its present appearance in 1598. In 1890, the mill was damaged by a major flood. It stopped operating as a working mill in 1936. Just two years later, in 1938, a devastating fire destroyed much of the building. The City of Prague later restored the mill at its own expense. On December 8, 1992, the large wooden waterwheel began turning again. Today, visitors can still admire the impressive wooden waterwheel, powered by the flowing water of the Vltava River. Of course, the wheel we see today is not the original one, but one of several replicas made over the centuries.
